The internecine debate in Washington over the “health care crisis” and what to do about it is stunningly grotesque. Ostensibly, the ultimate goal is to craft legislation that solves the “crisis”. But the solution is so incredibly simple that I have to wonder if the Congress has ulterior motives. So, what else is new? I offer my analysis. As I understand the problem, most of our people rely on Medicaid, Medicare or private insurance. So Congress should focus mainly on those several million citizens who work, but get no insurance through their employer. Supposedly, these same workers cannot possibly afford to (or, in a few cases, foolishly choose not to) buy private health insurance on their own. It appears that many employers, especially small businesses, find the cost of providing health insurance to employees to be prohibitive. Even those employers who provide good health insurance plans are cutting back, confronted as they are by already insuperable personnel costs. So, the primary challenge is to find a way to cover all those hard-working Americans who toil away for non-insurance-providing employers. Many in this boat are one person businesses known as independent contractors. The socialistic bellwether proposed by many in the U. S. Congress and apparently everyone in the Obama administration is an arrangement to supplant the current method of delivering health care with some form of ubiquitous government-run insurance program, complete with the attending new bureaucracies, rules, regulations and, of course, tax hikes. By the way, these guys are so cool when they re-label socialized medicine as “a single-payer system”, don’t you agree? Well, I have to ask, why not just fix the system using the tax code? The current code allows a dollar-for-dollar deduction from taxable income for the employer’s cost of health insurance premiums. There is ample proof that this provides insufficient incentive to employers. Today’s business tax deduction benefit is demonstrably insufficient to charm some employers into purchasing company-paid health insurance plans. So, Mr. Congressman, just change the tax code to provide more health care plan incentives. (This is not exactly rocket science.) I suggest you should probably double the allowable deduction. That is, tell an employer that, if he spends, say, $100,000 next year for employee health insurance premiums, the employer can reduce his/her taxable income by twice what he spent, or $200,000. Shucks, triple the deduction if you need to. Simply figure out the multiplier that will entice the employer sufficiently, and put it into the tax code. Yes. Present the bosses of America with a mountain-size impossible-to-ignore reason that makes it advantageous, even profitable, for them to provide an employee health plan. The “cost” in terms of lost tax revenues has to be less than the acknowledged trillions that paterfamilias Obama’s plan will drain from our pockets. In fact, one would think those so-called “lost” taxes will be largely offset by bigger income tax receipts derived from health care providers and insurance companies whose businesses will boom due to all the new customers they will be privileged to serve. Of course, solving the “health care crisis” by simply adjusting the tax code may have a few detractors. The government of, for, and by the bureaucrats will be on the outside looking in, instead of controlling our every move directly (okay, that is a negative only if you are a bureaucrat). For another thing, it is simple enough for us normal folk to comprehend. It’s basically a buy one and get one free form of taxation. Relying on the free enterprise system used to be the norm in this country. And this tax code idea would allow capitalism and free enterprise to do what they do best. I do declare, our termagant Congressmen and Congresswomen have to be terrified that we voting citizens will figure out their jobs are relatively easy to do when done right. Also, on the plus side for you and me, but on the down side for bureaucrats, the demagogues of Congress will not be able to use the medical establishment to grab any more of our hard-earned money. Boo-hoo-hoo. And, I know. Some of those career politicians will call it a tax cut for the rich, even though the main beneficiary would be the average working man. . This tax code answer also means our elected social engineers will have to find some other segment of the economy to control. But, don’t you worry. They will have plenty of options. These crusaders will stay busy because there are so many other inane causes they can dive into. Many will turn their fangs toward gun control, or global warming, or same-sex anything, or perhaps they will wish to riot for a no-missile-defense foreign policy. As a last resort, they could just go live in Cuba and enjoy the numerous healthcare benefits in that island Utopia.

Rheumatoid Arthritis

Here's one more reason to keep your teeth healthy. People who suffer from gum disease and also have a severe form of rheumatoid arthritis reduced their arthritic pain, number of swollen joints, and the degree of morning stiffness when they cured their dental problems. Researchers from the Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine and University Hospitals of Cleveland reported on this new intervention for arthritis in the Journal of Periodontology. "It was exciting to find that if we eliminated the infection and inflammation in the gums, then patients with a severe kind of active rheumatoid arthritis reported improvement on the signs and symptoms of that disease," said Dr. Nabil Bissada, chairman of the periodontics department at the dental school. "It gives us a new intervention." This is not the first time that gum disease and rheumatoid arthritis have been linked. Another researcher in the study, Dr. Ali Askari, chairman of the rheumatology department at University Hospitals, said, "From way back, rheumatologists and other clinicians have been perplexed by the myth that gum disease may have a big role in causing systematic disease." Historically, teeth were pulled or antibiotics given for treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, which actually treated the periodontitis, he said. The patients got better. Both inflammatory diseases share similarities in the progression of the disease over time. In both diseases, the soft and hard tissues are destroyed from inflammation caused by toxins from bacterial infection. "I'm optimistic that someday the biologic agents that we use successfully in treatment of rheumatoid arthritis will lead to improvement of periodontitis and would be available for use and treatment of this perplexing problem," Askari said. "Again we are seeing another link where good oral health improves the overall health of an individual," said Bissada, who added that studies have linked gum disease to premature births, heart disease, and diabetes.

Vitamin D

Everyone knows that Vitamin D is essential to good health. Most kids get plenty from sunshine. But us older folks don't, for many reasons. The foremost reason is that our aches and pains keep us indoors far too much. I just finished reading an article by a world renowned medical doctor that alarmed me. It seems that the Vitamin D that we get from exposure to the sun is created on the skin surface and absorbed into the body over a 48-hour period. The Vitamin D can actually be washed away when we shower. All the more reason to take Vitamin D orally so that it is absorbed internally. The good news is that the Joint Victory + sold by NewDay Health (see our special offers on the left) provides a healthy 1000 IU of Vitamin D daily. Just another bonus for relying on this wonderful supplement to relieve pain.

Your Answer for Aching Joints

It's no secret, people worldwide are working harder and living longer than ever. And our joints are really taking the punishment! Joint pain can stem from old or recent injuries. strains, or sprains. You might have stressed a joint decades ago and just now have trouble with the joint. All kinds of illnesses are known to cause aching joints. Everything from the common cold to Rheumatoid arthritis to a variety of bacterial infections can cause joint pain. Some medicines and interactions between medicines can cause your joints to ache. As with any health issue, when you experience sudden changes in your joints, it's a very good idea to see your doctor. Sudden or growing joint pain can often be a sign that something serious is wrong. My hunch is there's a good chance your joint pain is long term, something you saw a doctor about years ago. Now you're simply struggling to deal with the consistent pain. If you suffer from aching joints, you know just how debilitating the irritation, lack of flexibility, and even occasional agony can be. While I'm not a doctor, I have dealt a lot with aching joints. Here are a few ideas that can help: (1) Heat often helps. Put a heating pad on the aching joint or soak in a tub of warm water for 20 minutes. That simple treatment is often suggested by doctors and works well for many mild cases. The Thermotex brand of infrared heating pads is the best we have seen. Click here for more information. (2) Use an over the counter non habit forming pain killer. Acetaminophen, ibuprofen, and common aspirin are favorites. Of course, stronger addictive medicines will only be prescribed for severe pain and temporary use. (3) Use a quality pain-relieving cream. The best balms use menthol, emu oil, and MSM. An Oklahoma chemist named Jack McClung has developed a fine pain-relieving salve called SuperBlue. Made from the purest ingredients and formulated for maximum effectiveness, SuperBlue from NewDay Health is our choice for a cream that works. An amazing attribute of SuperBlue is that many customers report the longer they use it, the less they need! Click here to read more.
(4) Get plenty of sleep. This is one simple strategy commonly prescribed for anyone who deals with long term pain. Learn to focus your mind on your daily activities. Losing yourself in a project can help you "tune out" moderate joint pain. (4) Use natural herbal supplements specially formulated to relieve joint pain and help repair joints. This last point deserves some discussion. Most people don't realize that the vast majority of prescription drugs are manufactured from ingredients found in plants. Many scientists and health professionals have asked why not skip the often harsh pharmaceutical manufacturing process and simply use the plants themselves for treatments. That makes a lot of sense. Natural herbal supplements are inexpensive, non habit forming, and don't cause the unpleasant side-effects often seen in prescription drugs. A recently formulated supplement using Danish rose hips as one of its key ingredients has been studied extensively in laboratories. One study showed a whopping 82% of patients experienced dramatic improvement in mobility, joint pain relief, and joint comfort in a period of just two to three weeks.
Clinical trials prove JointVictory works! Click here to read more. No one should have to suffer with stiff and painful joints. See your doctor and consider some of the ideas above.

Asparagus and Cancer

This came to NewDay Health from a good friend.
After reading this article over a month ago, I could not remember where it was. So I asked my sister to send it to me again. I am asking you to read it to the end. My Mom had been taking the full-stalk canned style asparagus that she pureed and she took 4 tablespoons in the morning and 4 tablespoons later in the day. She did this for over a month. She is on chemo pills for Stage 3 lung cancer in the pleural area and her cancer cell count went from 386 down to 125 as of this past week. Her oncologist said she does not need to see him for 3 months..

THE ARTICLE:
Several years ago, I had a man seeking asparagus for a friend who had cancer. He gave me a photocopied copy of an article, entitled, `Asparagus for cancer' printed in Cancer News Journal, December 1979.
I will share it here, just as it was shared with me:'I am a biochemist, and have specialized in the relation of diet to health for over 50 years..Several years ago, I learned of the discovery of Richard R. Vensal, D.D.S. that asparagus might cure cancer.
Since then, I have worked with him on his project. We have accumulated a number of favorable case histories. Here are a few examples:
Case No. 1, A man with an almost hopeless case of Hodgkin's disease (cancer of the lymph glands) who was completely incapacitated. Within 1 year of starting the asparagus therapy, his doctors were unable to detect any signs of cancer, and he was back on a schedule of strenuous exercise.
Case No. 2, a successful businessman 68 years old who suffered from cancer of the bladder for 16 years. After years of medical treatments, including radiation without improvement, he went on asparagus. Within 3 months, examinations revealed that his bladder tumor had disappeared and that his kidneys were normal.
Case No. 3, a man who had lung cancer. On March 5th 1971, he was put on the operating table where they found lung cancer so widely spread that it was inoperable. The surgeon sewed him up and declared his case hopeless. On April 5th he heard about the asparagus therapy and immediately started taking it.By August, x-ray pictures revealed that all signs of the cancer had disappeared.. He is back at his regular business routine.
Case No. 4, a woman who was troubled for a number of years with skin cancer. She finally developed different skin cancers which were diagnosed by asking specialist as advanced.. Within 3 months after starting on asparagus, her skin specialist said that her skin looked fine and no more skin lesions. This woman reported that the asparagus therapy also cure her kidney disease, which started in 1949. She had over 10 operations for kidney stones, and was receiving government disability payments for an inoperable, terminal, kidney condition. She attributes the cure of this kidney trouble entirely to the asparagus.
I was not surprised at this result, as `The elements of materia medica', edited in 1854 by a Professor at the University of Pennsylvania , stated that asparagus was used as a popular remedy for kidney stones. He even referred to experiments, in 1739, on the power of asparagus in dissolving stones.
We would have other case histories but the medical establishment has interfered with our obtaining some of the records. I am therefore appealing to readers to spread this good news and help us to gather a large number of case histories that will overwhelm the medical skeptics about this unbelievably simple and natural remedy.
For the treatment, asparagus should be cooked before using, and therefore canned asparagus is just as good as fresh.
I have corresponded with the two leading canners of asparagus, Giant and Stokely, and I am satisfied that these brands contain no pesticides or preservatives. Place the cooked asparagus in a blender and liquefy to make a puree, and store in the refrigerator. Give the patient 4 full tablespoons twice daily, morning and evening.
Patients usually show some improvement in from 2-4 weeks. It can be diluted with water and used as a cold or hot drink. This suggested dosage is based on present experience, but certainly larger amounts can do no harm and may be needed in some cases.
As a biochemist I am convinced of the old saying that `what cures can prevent'. Based on this theory, my wife and I have been using asparagus puree as a beverage with our meals.
We take 2 tablespoons diluted in water to suit our taste with breakfast and with dinner. I take mine hot and my wife prefers hers cold. For years we have made it a practice to have blood surveys taken as part of our regular checkups. The last blood survey, taken by a medical doctor who specializes in the nutritional approach to health, showed substantial improvements in all categories over the last one, and we can attribute these improvements to nothing but the asparagus drink...
As a biochemist, I have made an extensive study of all aspects of cancer, and all of the proposed cures. As a result, I am convinced that asparagus fits in better with the latest theories about cancer.Asparagus contains a good supply of protein called histones, which are believed to be active in controlling cell growth. For that reason, I believe asparagus can be said to contain a substance that I call cell growth normalizer.
That accounts for its action on cancer and in acting as a general body tonic. In any event, regardless of theory, asparagus used as we suggest, is a harmless substance. The FDA cannot prevent you from using it and it may do you much good.. It has been reported by the US National Cancer Institute, that asparagus is the highest tested food containing glutathione, which is considered one of the body's most potent anticarcinogens and antioxidants.

Swine Flu

Everyone is talking about Swine Flu as if it could wipe out the whole human race. But I have yet to hear anyone say why Swine Flu is any worse than any other flu. Makes me wonder if all the hullabaloo is just to make us afraid so we'll depend even more on our government for protection. I've had the common flu several times in my 63 years and I got over it every time. I cannot say it was pleasant, but I never thought it was life threatening. I expect that a person who is in good health may find that a case of most any strain of flu is not too awful. I take several supplements to make sure my immune system is working well. So, I am not going to panic over "Swine Flu". The authorities are going to have to explain this thing better. I do wish NewDay Health sold surgical masks. I could make a killing.

Allergy Relief

My daughter lives in Houston where pollen and allergies are a way of life. She has found that Allergy Relief Tablets do a great job relieving the sneezing and other miseries that come with hay fever. She is kind of a health fanatic when it comes to her three children, so it has been hard for her to find a product that works and that she feels is totally safe for the little ones. Another advantage of this product is that the tablets are chewable and don't taste bad at all.

My Migraine Experience

I have suffered from migraine headaches since puberty....But no more! Chiropractic care, ice packs, Blue Stuff and a great product called MigraSpray have almost completely eliminated my headaches. I refused to take the heavy medications medical doctors recommended, because of my two small children. Thus began my search for more options and better treatments. I tried altering my diet (thinking my migranes might be allergy related), over the counter pain relievers and much more. But I still got the headaches, nausea, blind spots and numbness in the limbs for days at a time. That just doesn't work when you are chasing kids, homeschooling and being a wife to a wonderful husband! So I started with chiropractic care. When I did feel a symtom coming on I would pull out a bottle of pure peppermint essential oil and applied it to my temples and forehead. I followed with a generous helping of Blue Stuff to my neck and strapped on a ice pack to the base of my head. I discovered from my chiropractor that the migraine pain is all due to swelling and inflamation in the neck...why didn't a medical doctor know that???!! Although I do carry Blue Stuff and peppermint oil with me in my purse at all times, I don't always have an ice pack. For times like these I used MigraSpray. MigraSpray actually recommended that you use their product daily for prevention, but I found that it works just fine for immediate relief at the time you experience your first symptom. I have even used it when I just 'thought' I might get a symptom...that was when I spent most of my days 'fearing that I might get one of those headaches today'....I have since taken care of the fear factor with lots of prayer and empowerment from the Holy Spirit("For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love and of sound mind"--II Timothy 1:7). Back to the ice pack...I often have a plastic grocery bag or ziplok left over from a picnic lunch somewhere in my car...If I find myself without my ice pack away from home and needing to relieve a migraine symptom (not just the headache, but the vision and numbness as well) I stop through a drive thru window and ask for a large cup of ice...fill my recycled bag and before I am to my next destination I have my migraine undercontrol and feel basically symptom free... Hope you find some of these tips helpful and can start living fear free, pain free and migraine free!

New post - 716469

All my research tells me that pain is both a physical and a spiritual phenomenon. How else can we explain the fact that two people with almost identical problems experience entirely different levels of pain? The only plausible explanation is that, somehow, one person's body simply "refuses" to feel a pain while another person "allows" a similar pain to be felt. So, to diminish or eliminate any pain, NewDay Health believes we must apply a combination of natural physical and spiritual remedies. We here are not qualified to guide sufferers through a spiritual "awakening" that might eliminate their pain. So, that will be left to the individual to seek out his or her own spiritual help from religion, reflection, personal prayer, or other means. However, we can help ease the physical pain so that the individual's mind can be free to pursue spiritual release. Our ointments, nutrients, and medical devices are the finest in the world......pure, natural, and effective. By using our solutions, like SuperBLUE, JointVictory, and Thermotex, we are convinced that every pain sufferer can find a degree of relief. We hope you will use this forum to comment on those techniques and treatments that have worked for you, thereby helping others to gain a better understanding of their own predicaments.
